A Message from the President.....

.....So we're just about the fourth of the way through the year and our ranks have grown with new members joining the Spirit Committee. We have gone though some changes too!! Tiffany who was our secretary is now our new supervisor! (...goes to show that great things can happen when you're part of the Spirit Committee!! Congrats Tiff!). Because of the promotion, she would be way to busy supervising everyone to fulfill her duties as secretary so we did a little flip flop of sorts......Ana, who was treasurer, is no secretary and Cheryl Mc, who was the financial advisor, is now combining that position with the duties of the treasurer. (I know....it reads like a mystery novel, but really, it's not that complicated. Whatever it takes to get the job done is how I look at it and I think it will work well.)

We just completed the "Great Golden Egg Giveaway" over Easter weekend, and from the feedback we received, I hear it was a success! Next year, more prizes and more golden eggs....I promise! Thanks to Jennifer Gardener and Nancy Munoz who did an excellent job of putting the "giveaway" together.....from making signs to making sure prizes were divided to distributing the eggs to people who would pass them out on each shift.....GREAT JOB!
Also, good job to Rachael and Beverly on day shift....you made it fun for everyone. Thanks to Candi on weekend days for handling things on your shift! Eggcellent job ladies!!

We have a lot more projects coming up this year and now Ana has come up with this splendid idea to blog about it!! That's right.....the Spirit Committee will now have a blog and I'm looking forward to communicating all about the Spirit Committee's activities.....and looking forward to your comments too!!

Golden Egg Giveaway
Golden Eggs will be raffled away on Fri., Apr. 10th, Sat., Apr. 11th and Sun., Apr. 12th. Employees working these days will be elegible to win an egg. There will be 10 eggs for each shift. Each egg will contain a prize (ie. candy, movie tickets, meal tickets, etc.). A name will be drawn every 1-2 hrs during the shift. Keep a out for the "Egg Keepers"......Rachael and Beverly 7A, Nancy 7p, Candi 7A TDA, and Jenn G 7pTDA.

Treasurer's Report
As of April 1, 2009, we have approximately $1185.00. All the fundraising has paid off!

Snack Attack
The Snack Attack has been reinstated!! The sodas, chips and candy are selling very well. The 100 calorie snacks, on the other hand, are not. If they continue to not sell, we have to consider not providing them anymore. If you have any suggestions, please let us know. It was suggested to have an "End of the Month Blowout".....we would sell the stuff that hasn't sold at a discount price (ex. blue light special, brown bag special). The goal is to make money to help fund future activities. A special thanks to the "key keepers" for making themselves available for the staff.

Mother's Day Project
Mother's Day is Sunday, May 1oth. We are doing a free raffle. Prizes suggested were mani/pedi, massage, Bath & Body Works basket. Mommies.....let us know what you like!

All Spirit Committee members are encouraged to volunteer at The Reunion. It will be held on May 2, 2009 at the Baylor Tom Landry Center. Sign up sheets are in the break room!
